Standing for Arkansas
A Message from Blake Johnson
“When I was first elected to the Arkansas State Senate in 2014, I promised the voters to make a difference for the views and values that we hold dear. I’m proud to say those promises have been kept. I have led the fight to protect the unborn. I have fought every session to lower taxes including the most historic tax cut in the history of our state just this past year. There is more work to do and I am running for reelection to ensure that the conservative values you elected me to protect, are secure.”
WHERE BLAKE STANDS ON THE
I am unequivocally pro-life and will never waver from supporting the lives of the unborn. As your State Senator, I have supported countless measures to strengthen pro-life policies in our state. In fact, because of that commitment and effort, Arkansas is now the most pro-life state in the country. As your State Senator, I was the lead sponsor on legislation to continue the fight to stop abortion.
Defending the Second Amendment
I have always—and will always—support our Second Amendment. As your NRA-endorsed State Senator, I am proud to have co-sponsored Stand Your Ground legislation that allows Arkansans to protect themselves, their families, and their property. My commitment to you is that I will never back down from those who wish to weaken our right to bear arms that our Constitution grants us as Americans.
Back the Blue
Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to protect our families and communities. For that I am continually grateful, but we must provide them with the resources necessary to do their jobs well—and safely. As your State Senator, I will always support policies that do just that. I have supported bonuses for every credentialed law enforcement officer in Arkansas—state and local—and am proud to have supported our state troopers’ effort to reduce the number of years they must serve to be able to retire. There is so much more we can and must do, and I am committed to always backing those in blue.
Job creation is vital to an area’s growth and prosperity and has always been one of my top priorities as your State Senator. Since you first elected me, I’ve supported policies that have created more than 80,000 jobs. But we must do more. We must get government out of the way by removing job-killing regulations that allow small business to do what they do best – innovate and create new jobs. Access to high-speed broadband is also key—and I will continue to fight for that access for NEA communities.
Agriculture & Farming
My family has been in farming for generations, and as a conservative farmer, I understand our agriculture industry and the issues facing our farm families. As your State Senator, I have fought to preserve and protect our rural Arkansas values from government overreach, and I am committed to continue that fight for the next generation.
Education & Workforce Training
We are only as strong as our next generation, and we must place a high priority on providing the best resources for our students—and workforce—to meet generation, business, and industry needs. That, of course, starts in the classroom with our teachers. As your State Senator, I was proud to support teacher pay increases, and I will continue to push for more resources for our schools. As for workforce training, I have always advocated for career pathways for those looking to start—or forced to start—a new career. Workforce training centers are critical to building a workforce that will continue to move Arkansas and NEA forward.
Tax Cuts & Transforming Government
I believe in less government spending and will fight to eliminate waste, fraud, abuse in state government. As your State Senator, I’ve supported more than $500 million in tax cuts, a majority of which focused on the income tax. Additionally, I supported the largest transformation of government in our history, reducing the number of departments from 42 to 15. And because I have advocated for less government spending as your State Senator, our state now has a surplus of more than $1.2 billion. That’s good government, but we have so much more to do. I am committed to making sure that state government works better for the families of Northeast Arkansas.
Our veterans have sacrificed more than we will ever be able to repay. They defended freedom at home so we might enjoy the freedoms we hold dear today. As your State Senator, I will always support policies that help our veterans get the benefits they deserve. They were there for all of us, and we must continue to be there for them. They are the best of us, and I am committed to supporting them.
The People We Trust…Trust Ben Gilmore
Ben Gilmore is the conservative leader that southeast Arkansas needs in the State Senate. He will fight for the unborn, protect our Second Amendment right, and stand up against the liberal mob that threatens our religious liberties. Arkansas conservatives need leaders like Ben in Little Rock, which is why I enthusiastically support him for State Senate in District 26.
U.S. Senator Tom Cotton
Ben has always worked hard to find the best solution to issues and it’s the same attitude to serve others and solve problems that will make him successful in the State Senate. Just as I was blessed to have Ben on my team, I’m honored to endorse his candidacy as the next Arkansas State Senator for District 26.
Congressman Bruce Westerman
